The Maryland Writing Project is an affiliate of the National Writing Project, which has served over 2 million teachers and administrators since its inception in 1973



Mission:

The MWP believes that teachers are the best teachers of other teachers. Our mission is to identify, train and support excellent teachers so that they can share with others their writing as a learning tool. Teacher-consultants are created to research, develop and share best writing practices in order to effect change in classrooms, schools and school systems.
